Several months ago it was announced that Bishop Fulton Sheen will be beatified in a ceremony to be held in St. Louis on September 24 of this year, with a “cardinal” from the Vatican presiding. The news was received with great joy by many, especially R&R-type conservatives. But should we faithful Catholics find it a cause for joy or rather concern? Let us begin with a review of the canonization process. ..
Can We Prefer Saturday to Sunday?

One practice which has become very popular in the Novus Ordo is the so-called “Anticipated” Mass. In the Conciliar Church, people are permitted to go to “Mass” on Saturday evening in place of going on Sunday. This Mass is, of course, not the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It refers to the Novus Ordo supper service which they have the audacity to call a “Mass.” Most parishes have a Saturday evening option for those who do not feel like getting up to go to Mass on Sunday morning. Parishes that don’t have them are often criticized for not doing so...

Jesus Christ tells us today that it is not enough to say “Lord, Lord,” but we must also do the will of the Father. The saints did the will of the Father, including St. Thérèse of Lisieux. The saddest words of Holy Scripture are those that foreshadowed the suffering of Christ in His Passion: “I looked for one that would grieve together with Me, but there was none: and for one that would comfort Me, and I found none” (Ps. 68:21). The Sacred Heart of Jesus ardently longed that those He had redeemed would at least console Him; that they would feel and express their pity for the tortures of His Sacred Passion and the pain caused Him by the sins of mankind.
