Dear Friends and Benefactors,

One of the results of our “late Easter” this year has been the accumulation of various events in close succession as the seminary year comes to a conclusion.

For our seminarians there must be a wrapping up of classes, final exams, and a spiritual retreat in preparation for ordinations.

Adding to this schedule the chanting of the Greater Litanies (April 25th) and of the Minor Litanies (three days preceding the Ascension), as well as the administration of the sacrament of Confirmation in a number of our parishes and a few weddings in between, makes for one busy early summer.

In order to give greater emphasis to the upcoming ordinations to the priesthood, it was decided to bestow the clerical tonsure on Johannes Heyne of Germany, and the last two minor orders on Chris Gronenthal of Spokane, Washington, this past May 8th, the Feast of the Apparition of St. Michael, instead of May 31st, the day of the priestly ordinations.

Included with this Adsum is the announcement for the priestly ordination of three of our seminarians. For those of you who cannot attend, please remember them in your prayers on this significant day in their lives. For those who can attend, we would appreciate your advanced notification in order to adequately provide for the reception which will follow the ceremonies. If any of you need information concerning lodging and accommodations in the area, please contact us at 402-571-4404 or at MICCSEC@aol.com.

For those of you who wish to financially assist our newly-ordained priests to provide for their necessary liturgical items (Mass kit, chalice, linens,. etc.), please clearly state for which seminarian it is directed.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support! I hope you will have an opportunity to meet each of the newly-ordained priests when they visit your area.

With my prayers and blessing,
Most Rev. Mark A. Pivarunas, CMRI
